Elaborate Arrangements Made for Ganesh Immersion in Karimnagar
Barricades, lighting, cranes and other facilities have been arranged at the designated immersion points.
Karimnagar: Elaborate arrangements have been made for the immersion of Ganesh idols across the erstwhile Karimnagar district on Wednesday, with officials making arrangements for the smooth conduct of the Ganesh Shobha Yatra and immersion.
Barricades, lighting, cranes and other facilities have been arranged at the designated immersion points.
In Karimnagar, three immersion points — Manakondur and Kothapalli tanks and the SRSP canal at Chinthakunta — have been identified for idols installed in the town and surrounding villages.
The Karimnagar Municipal Corporation (KMC) has levelled the ground and made arrangements for barricades, lighting and drinking water.
Big and small cranes have been deployed at each immersion point to lower the idols into the water.
Professional swimmers and DRF boats have also been deployed.
Special sanitation staff have been deployed to keep the procession route and immersion points clean.
As part of the tradition, the Ganesh Shobha Yatra will begin from Ganesh pandal No. 1 at Tower Circle in Karimnagar town. Other Ganesh idols will join the procession later.
The Karimnagar commissionerate police have also made security arrangements, with a large number of personnel deployed at various locations. CCTV cameras have been installed at all immersion points.
Collector Chitra Mishra, commissioner of police Gaush Alam and municipal commissioner Praful Desai visited the Chinthakunta and Kothapalli immersion points and reviewed the arrangements.
