Economists, Experts Praise Telangana Rising 2047 Vision Doc

UK former prime minister Tony Blair remarked that Telangana’s journey since its formation in 2014 stood as a symbol of resilience and reinvention.

Hyderabad:Industry leaders, economists and global policy experts lauded Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for unveiling the Telangana Rising 2047 Vision document, describing it as a forward-looking, people-centric roadmap for long-term development.

Speaking at the unveiling session at Bharat Future City on Tuesday, noted economist, Prof. Arvind Subramanian, India’s former chief economic adviser, said that the Vision 2047 document marked a shift from an IT-driven growth model to a broader people-centric technological ecosystem, signalling a major structural transformation. He termed the vision “a significant evolution in the state’s development trajectory.”

RBI former governor Dr Duvvuri Subbarao highlighted Telangana’s rise as India’s leading growth engine, with Hyderabad firmly positioned as a hub for pharma, biotechnology and the services sector. He said the state’s skilled workforce and clear vision for a “Viksit Telangana” make it “unstoppable and unbeatable” in the coming years.

Anand Mahindra, Chairman of Mahindra Group, said the summit had opened new horizons for industries. He described the Vision 2047 document as one of the most inspiring, ambitious and people-focused frameworks he had seen anywhere in the world. It reflected bold thinking backed by a strong commitment to inclusive progress.

RBI former governor Raghuram Rajan, addressing the event virtually, praised the vision document as comprehensive and rooted in people’s needs. He said that its strong focus on education and skill development will generate employment and stimulate economic growth, adding that the targets set were practical and achievable.

Shantanu Narayen, CEO of Adobe and a member of the Vision 2047 advisory council, said he was proud to be associated with the drafting process. He noted that the roadmap was shaped through wide-ranging consultations with stakeholders and aims to propel Telangana toward a trillion-dollar economy.

Film star Chiranjeevi commended the Chief Minister for prioritising the film and entertainment sector in the vision document. He expressed confidence that the Vision 2047 framework would elevate the Telugu film industry to global standards comparable to Hollywood.
