Eco-friendly Idols Distributed by LB Nagar Police
DCP Praveen Kumar said that it was everyone's responsibility to safeguard the environment by choosing eco-friendly idols over those made with plaster of Paris and synthetic colours.
Hyderabad: Promoting environmentally responsible Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations, the LB Nagar police in association with Vaswik Foundation distributed clay idols to police personnel on Tuesday. The initiative was led by LB Nagar DCP Praveen Kumar, ACP A. Krishnaiah and inspector Vinod Kumar.
DCP Praveen Kumar said that it was everyone's responsibility to safeguard the environment by choosing eco-friendly idols over those made with plaster of Paris and synthetic colours. “Clay idols not only protect ecological balance but also preserve our culture and traditions. The message of environmental awareness must start with us,” he said.
ACP Krishnaiah pointed out that idols made with chemical colours and non-biodegradable material harm lakes and disturb ecological harmony. He appealed to people to worship clay idols peacefully and ensure safe, responsible idol immersion.
Additional DCP B. Koteshwara Rao, LB Nagar ACP A. Krishnayya, Vaswik Foundation organiser Naresh Prajapati, along with division inspectors and sub-inspectors, participated in the programme.
