ECI Extends Special Intensive Revision Schedule In Telangana; Final Electoral Roll On Nov 9

Consequently, the timeline for the notice phase and disposal of claims and objections by electoral registration officials has been shifted: Reports

HYDERABAD: In a relief to citizens and political parties, the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Monday revised the schedule for the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls across Telangana, extending the timeline for claims and objections as well as the final publication date.

According to a notification issued by the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Telangana, the period for filing claims and objections has now been extended until October 7, 2026. Under the earlier schedule, the window was slated to close on September 16. The extension provides eligible citizens, including first-time voters and those seeking corrections or deletions, an additional three weeks to submit their applications.

Consequently, the timeline for the notice phase and disposal of claims and objections by electoral registration officials has been shifted. Authorities will now clear all claims and objections between August 17 and November 5, 2026, as against the earlier deadline of October 15.

Following the disposal of claims, the final publication of the updated electoral rolls across all assembly constituencies in the state will take place on November 9, 2026, deferred from the previously designated date of October 19.

Officials urged eligible voters who have attained 18 years of age and those whose names were omitted during earlier verification drives to utilize the extended window to submit relevant forms through online portals or at designated polling stations and tahsildar offices.
