EAPCET, Telangana PGECET dates announced
The exams for agriculture and pharmacy will be on April 29 to April 30, 2025 and for the engineering stream from May 2 to May 5. The syllabus for the Eapcet will be only from the Intermediate first and second year texts

Hyderabad: The notification for the Eapcet, for admission into engineering, agriculture and pharmacy courses, will be issued on February 20, and applications will open on February 25. The last date to apply without a late fee is April 4.
The exams for agriculture and pharmacy will be on April 29 to April 30, 2025 and for the engineering stream from May 2 to May 5. The syllabus for the Eapcet will be only from the Intermediate first and second year texts.
This was decided at a meeting attended by JNTU-H and the Telangana Council for Higher Education (TGCHE) officials.
For TG PGECET-2025, the notification will be released on March 12, and online applications will start on March 17. The last date to apply without a late fee is May 19 and the exam will be held from June 16 to June 19.
MANUU to Host Workshops on Modern Pedagogy for Madrasa Teachers
Hyderabad: The Centre for Professional Development of Urdu Medium Teachers at the Maulana Azad National Urdu University will be organising three workshops on pedagogy for madrasas from February 6 to 8. The sessions will be held under the guidance of university Vice Chancellor Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan and registrar Prof. Ishtiaq Ahmed.
The workshops will focus on modern teaching techniques for religious studies, covering Tafsir (Quranic exegesis), Hadith (Prophetic traditions), Fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence), and grammar.
Scholars at MANUU Conference Emphasize Need for Interfaith Dialogue
Hyderabad: Scholars at a two-day international conference at Maulana Azad National Urdu University (Manuu) stressed on the urgent need for interfaith conversations rooted in respect and understanding.
Organised by the university’ department of Islamic studies in collaboration with the Henry Martyn Institute, the event explored India’s history as a centre of religious dialogue and the need for intellectual exchanges to promote harmony.
Prof. Hamidullah Marazi, director of ICSS at IUST, Jammu and Kashmir, pointed out India’s long-standing tradition of interfaith discussions. He mentioned that Emperor Akbar’s era was an important period for interreligious dialogue.
The conference was attended by Dr Victor Edwin from Vidya Jyoti Institute of Religious Studies, Delhi, who spoke on Muslim-Christian relations in India. Prof. Harmohinder Singh Bedi, Chancellor of the Central University of Himachal Pradesh and spoke on Punjab’s historical role in interfaith understanding, influenced by Guru Nanak and Baba Farid.
GHMC Imposes Rs.42 Lakh Penalty for Open Debris Dumping
Hyderabad: The GHMC over two months has imposed penalty of Rs.42 lakh for dumping debris in the open. GHMC commissioner K. Ilambarithi after inauguring a children’s park at Herbal Gardens in Jubilee Hills, said that levying penalties will continue. He asserted that, correct procedure should be followed for disposal of construction and demolition (C&D) waste by paying the user fee to the GHMC.
Meanwhile, works worth `10.09 crore taken up by the GHMC were inaugurated by transport minister Ponnam Prabhakar. Apart from the children’s park, the others included development of NFCL and Somajiguda junction s and and te Punjagutta flyover beautification.
