DSP’s Sankranti Remarks At Bhimavaram Go Viral

The video of the DSP’s speech has since been widely shared across social media platforms, drawing public attention.

Kakinada: Remarks made by Bhimavaram DSP Raghuveer Vishnu at a Sankranti celebration programme in West Godavari district have gone viral on social media.

Speaking at the event in police uniform four days ago, the DSP expressed disappointment over what he described as a lack of enthusiasm among the audience. He said Sankranti should be celebrated with energy and cheer, but the response from the crowd had been muted.
“There is no excitement, no enthusiasm. Sankranti should be full of joy, but you are sitting silently,” he told the gathering.
Referring to popular film songs such as Orori Yogi and Kurchi Madathapetti, the DSP remarked that even when such songs were played, there was no cheering or response from the crowd. Following his remarks, the audience began clapping.
The DSP also highlighted Bhimavaram’s historical importance, calling it the “Second Bardoli”. He recalled the town’s role in a major peasant movement against the British, comparable to the Bardoli Satyagraha of 1928 led by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. He said Mahatma Gandhi himself had referred to Bhimavaram as the “Second Bardoli” of India.
