The incident occurred on May 19 at around 1pm when the victim’s grandmother was out for some work. The accused, identified as K. Raju, a resident of the same colony noticed the girl alone and entered the house.
Hyderabad: In a shocking incident, a 15-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 35-year-old auto-rickshaw driver while she was alone at her home. The accused has been arrested and sent to judicial remand by the police. According to police, victim lost her parents at a young age and she is staying with her grandmother in Gabbilalapeta. She works as daily wager to support her granddaughter.

The minor was terrified and in a state of shock did not disclose her ordeal immediately. It took her two days to gather confidence to speak to her grandmother. The grandmother after knowing the horrendous crime against her granddaughter, she approached the police and filed a complaint.
Based on the victim’s statement, the police registered a case under rape and POCSO Act. The accused was arrested and produced before a magistrate, and later remanded to judicial custody.
