Dr Suvarna Gets Addl Charge As TG Forest Chief
Following the retirement of senior forest officer R.M. Dobriyal on Wednesday, the Telangana government has appointed Dr Suvarna Chandrappagari, a senior Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer, as the principal chief conservator of forests (PCCF) and head of forest force (HoFF), with full additional charge.

Hyderabad:Following the retirement of senior forest officer R.M. Dobriyal on Wednesday, the Telangana government has appointed Dr Suvarna Chandrappagari, a senior Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer, as the principal chief conservator of forests (PCCF) and head of forest force (HoFF), with full additional charge.
Dr Suvarna currently serves as the principal chief conservator of forests (CAMPA) and CEO of the Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority (CAMPA). With this new responsibility, she will oversee the overall functioning of the forest department in Telangana until further orders.
A government servant with over 30 years of experience, Dr. Suvarna has held several key positions, including CEO of the National Fisheries Development Board, commissioner of fisheries and member secretary of the Telangana State Biodiversity Board. Her contributions have earned her multiple honours, including the State Award for Excellence and the prestigious Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship awarded by the U.S. Government.
