DOST Phase 1 Seat Allotment: 60,436 Students Secure Admissions; Commerce Remains Top Choice
60,436 students were allotted seats in various degree colleges across the state.

Hyderabad: The first phase of seat allocation under the Degree Online Services-Telangana (DOST) for admissions into undergraduate courses in Telangana has been successfully completed. A total of 89,572 students registered for the first phase, while 65,191 submitted their college and course preferences, according to Acharya V. Balakishta Reddy, Chairman of the Telangana State Council of Higher Education.
Out of these, 60,436 students were allotted seats in various degree colleges across the state. As with previous years, Commerce emerged as the most preferred stream, with 21,758 students securing seats in it.
In other streams, 15,249 students were allotted seats in Physical Sciences, 11,005 in Life Sciences, and 5,986 in Arts.
DOST currently facilitates admissions to 805 colleges, offering 457 courses and a total of 3,71,096 seats. Despite this, officials noted that 74 colleges did not receive a single admission in this phase, highlighting a significant gap in demand among institutions.
