DME Invites Applications for Temporary Transfers

The DME has directed principles of government medical colleges, nursing colleges and superintendents of government general hospitals to circulate the guidelines and forward eligible applications, strictly in compliance with the prescribed norms.

Hyderabad: The directorate of medical education (DME), Telangana, has invited applications from eligible employees for temporary inter-local cadre transfers on a deputation basis, in line with the recommendations of the Cabinet sub-committee on issues related to GO No. 317 issued under PO 2018.

In an order issued, medical education director Dr A. Narendra Kumar said the state government has decided to implement the Cabinet sub-committee’s recommendations through GO No 190. The policy allows employees facing genuine hardship to seek temporary transfers to another local cadre, without changing their original cadre.

As per the guidelines, such transfers will be considered only against clear existing vacancies in the same category and department in the requested local cadre. The deputation will initially be for a period of two years, extendable by one additional year, subject to administrative exigencies. On completion of the tenure, employees will be repatriated to their parent local cadre.

The facility applies only to employees who were shifted during the final allotment process under GO No. 317 dated December 6, 2021, and who did not benefit from subsequent re-allotments issued through government orders in 2022 and 2024. Employees who received promotions after December 6, 2021, or against whom disciplinary proceedings are pending or contemplated, are not eligible.

The DME has directed principles of government medical colleges, nursing colleges and superintendents of government general hospitals to circulate the guidelines and forward eligible applications, strictly in compliance with the prescribed norms. Applications, along with the required proforma, must reach the DME office on or before December 20, 2025.

The order clarifies that employees availing temporary transfers will not be entitled to travelling or daily allowances, and the benefit will be extended on a rotational basis to ensure fairness among applicants.
