Divorce Dispute: Man Attacks Wife With Knife in Medipally
The couple had been living separately for the past two years due to differences. Madhavi had approached the court seeking divorce.
Medipally: A 28-year-old woman was attacked with a knife by her estranged husband in Parvathipur Lakshminagar Colony of Medchal-Malkajgiri district on Sunday night.
According to police, Baddhula Madhavi, 28, and Adla Teja, 33, both residents of Parvathapur, had been married for around 10 years. The couple had been living separately for the past two years due to differences. Madhavi had approached the court seeking divorce.
On Sunday, at around 8.30 pm, Madhavi was returning to Parvathapur from a friend's house when Teja stopped her near the Narsimha Swamy Temple in Parvathapur. He reportedly attacked her with a knife, injuring her on the neck, stomach and other parts of her body.
Madhavi sustained severe injuries and lost a significant amount of blood. Local residents who witnessed the incident alerted the police, following which Teja allegedly fled the scene.
Police reached the spot and shifted the injured woman to Sri Sai Hospital in Medipally for treatment. Her condition is reportedly stable.
Police have registered a case and launched an investigation to trace and apprehend Teja.
