Dignitaries and International Diplomats Visited Medaram Maha Jatara
Governor Jishnu Dev Varma visited the shrine and performed special rituals, seeking blessings for the state’s prosperity.

Warangal: The Sammakka-Saralamma Maha Jatara witnessed a high-profile gathering on Friday, with several prominent personalities, including the Governor and international diplomats, offering prayers to the presiding tribal deities at Medaram in Tadvai mandal of Mulugu district.
Governor Jishnu Dev Varma visited the shrine and performed special rituals, seeking blessings for the state’s prosperity.
He was accompanied by state ministers Danasari Anasuya (Seethakka), who attended along with her family members, and endowments minister Konda Surekha. Several other political leaders were also present, including Mahbubabad MP Balram Naik, MLC Baswaraju Saraiah, and MLAs Naini Rajendar Reddy, Payam Venkateshwarlu, Gandra Satyanarayana and Sri Ganesh, who paid their respects to the tribal goddesses.
British Deputy High Commissioner Gareth Wynn Owen also visited Medaram. Minister Seethakka personally guided him through the premises, explaining the historical significance of the deities and the newly constructed structures at the gaddelu (altars). The diplomat showed keen interest in the tribal heritage and the scale of the biennial congregation.
Senior officials, including political and economic adviser Nalini Raghuraman, director general of state prisons Soumya Mishra and HYDRAA commissioner Ranganath, were also present. The district administration made elaborate arrangements to ensure tight security and smooth movement of VVIPs amid the heavy inflow of devotees following the arrival of the goddesses.
