Digital Teaching Gives New Impetus To Junior College Education

NIZAMABAD/KAMAREDDY: Modern technology is increasingly being used for teaching in government junior colleges across the erstwhile Nizamabad district, with lecturers using government-installed digital TVs and boards to present lessons.

Six digital boards have been provided in each college, enabling lecturers to use technology-based teaching methods in subjects including Chemistry, Physics, Botany, Zoology, Economics, Civics, Commerce, Hindi, Telugu and Mathematics during the 2026-27 academic year.

Lecturers are using photographs, visual presentations and digital content while teaching Telugu literature, prose and poetry in line with changes to the syllabus. Images related to writers, poets, historical backgrounds and important events are displayed on digital screens to help students understand lessons.

Lecturers said linking themes of poems and key points in prose lessons with visuals was helping students understand complex concepts more easily. They said digital teaching was also helping improve students’ creative thinking, observation skills and subject knowledge, while encouraging greater participation in classrooms.

Government lecturers said they were combining digital resources with traditional teaching methods to improve students’ learning abilities.

Intermediate student M. Srilatha said the installation of digital boards was an important step towards creating a modern educational environment in government junior colleges. She said integrating technology with the curriculum was giving classroom teaching a new dimension.

Telugu lecturer Narahari Lakshman and Chemistry lecturer Jetti Vijay Kumar told Deccan Chronicle that wider use of digital resources could further enhance students’ creativity, analytical skills and knowledge required for competitive examinations. They thanked the administration for the initiative.
