Warangal:Telangana DGP C.V. Anand on Monday warned of strict departmental action against four officials who fail to improve their behaviour and work standards, while addressing a press conference held in the former Maoist stronghold of Karreguttalu. He unfurled the National Flag.

Addressing the press conference, the DGP said the four officers had failed to change their behaviour and working style despite repeated instructions issued through meetings and video conferences. He expressed concern over the lack of responsiveness among some personnel and stressed that such lapses would not be tolerated in the force.
“If there is no improvement despite repeated directions, necessary departmental action will be taken,” Anand said. He added that four such officers had already been identified and specific instructions had been issued to them. He underlined that discipline, professionalism and adherence to directions were essential for effective policing and public trust.
Earlier in the day, Anand visited the remote Karreguttalu region along the Telangana–Chhattisgarh border and reviewed the situation on the ground. He interacted with officials from both states after unfurling the National Flag in the former Maoist stronghold.
Karreguttalu, once a Maoist stronghold for nearly five decades, has undergone a major transformation following sustained and coordinated anti-Maoist operations by Telangana and Chhattisgarh forces. These operations resulted in the elimination of several top Maoist leaders, while many cadres surrendered before the government, significantly weakening extremist influence and restoring administrative access in the region.
The DGP also noted that only a small number of Maoists remained active in the region and appealed to them to surrender and join the mainstream. He assured that the government would extend full rehabilitation support to those who lay down arms and reintegrate into society.
