DGP Reviews Security Preparations for Godavari Pushkaralu 2027

Mahesh Bhagwat Directs Police to Strengthen Surveillance, Traffic and Crowd Management at Pushkar Ghats
Telangana DGP (Law and Order) Mahesh Muralidhar Bhagwat reviewed preparations for the 2027 Godavari Pushkaralu and directed officials to ensure robust security and infrastructure arrangements.
Telangana Director General of Police (Law and Order) Mahesh Muralidhar Bhagwat on Saturday directed Nirmal police to complete security, surveillance and traffic management arrangements well ahead of the Godavari Pushkaralu scheduled in 2027.
During a video conference to review preparations for the festival at Basar and other locations along the Godavari river, Bhagwat instructed officials to establish watchtowers at Pushkar ghats, command and control centres, CCTV surveillance systems, drone surveillance and rapid response teams.
He also asked the police to prepare a comprehensive traffic management plan to handle the expected influx of devotees at Basar, Soan and Savargaon during the Pushkaralu.
Bhagwat directed officials to coordinate with the concerned departments to ensure the creation of basic amenities and infrastructure at Basar and other identified Pushkar ghats before the festival.
Nirmal superintendent of police Janaki Sharmila, Bhainsa additional SP Sai Kiran and inspectors Praveen, Krishna, Satyanarayana, Deepak, Ravinder and Ramnirajan participated in the review meeting.
