DGP Launches 'Call for Blood' App

Key features include robust data security, an option to keep donor details hidden for a specified period after donation, and a rapid donor identification system for critical situations.

Hyderabad: Director-General of Police B. Shivadhar Reddy on Tuesday launched a web application, ‘Call for Blood’, aimed at ensuring the immediate availability of blood donors for patients in need. The app has been designed to facilitate quick and efficient communication between donors and recipients, equipped with technology to identify suitable donors during emergencies while maintaining complete confidentiality of personal details.

Key features include robust data security, an option to keep donor details hidden for a specified period after donation, and a rapid donor identification system for critical situations.

Developed under the auspices of the Call for Blood Foundation, the initiative seeks to simplify the donation process and ensure timely supply of blood to patients.

On the occasion, the DGP felicitated Chintala Sampath, founder of the foundation, who said further details about the initiative are available at callforbloodfoundation.com.
