The delegation highlighted that the administrative changes and technical challenges had contributed to the delay in conducting the elections

Delegation of the Telangana Police Officers’ Association, led by its state president, Y. Gopi Reddy, met the Telangana DGP C.V. Anand.
Hyderabad: Director General of Police (DGP) C.V. Anand has directed officials to conduct the long-pending elections of the Telangana Police Officers’ Association, underscoring the importance of a democratically elected body in representing the interests of police personnel.
The directive came after a delegation of the association, led by its state president, Y. Gopi Reddy, met the DGP and appealed for the revival of the election process, which has remained untouched for several years.
The delegation highlighted that the administrative changes and technical challenges had contributed to the delay in conducting the elections. They requested the department's intervention to ensure that the process is initiated and completed at the earliest.
Responding positively, Anand instructed the concerned officials to make necessary arrangements for conducting the elections without further delay. He emphasised that the association serves as a vital platform for addressing the welfare concerns and grievances of police officers.
The DGP also said, “A strong and democratically elected association will enhance communication between police personnel and the department while promoting the welfare of the force.”
Association representatives welcomed the decision and expressed hope that the elections would strengthen the voice of police officers across the state. The move is expected to enhance participation of police personnel in welfare-related initiatives and organisational development within the department.
