Karimnagar: From the start of Karthika Masam, devotees performed special prayers and rituals. The fervour was particularly high on the first Monday of the auspicious month, with large crowds thronging temples across the erstwhile Karimnagar and Warangal districts from the early morning hours.

Considering Karthika Monday to be highly sacred, devotees took holy baths before visiting various Shiva and Vishnu temples. Major shrines like Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy and Bheemeshwara Swamy temples in Vemulawada, and the Sri Mukteswara Swamy temple in Kaleshwaram, witnessed massive gatherings. Temples across cities were filled with devotees, underscoring the deep spiritual significance of the day.
Priests performed special rituals and prayers at all major temples, including Abhishekams, Lingarchana, Ganda Deepam, Nitya Kalyanam, Chandi Homam, and Satyanarayana Vratam. Devotees also lit Karthika Deepams under gooseberry trees as part of the traditional observance.
Along with their family members, devotees offered Abhishekams to the presiding deities using milk, honey, jaggery, water, and Bilva leaves. Temple authorities made elaborate arrangements, including queue lines, drinking water, and prasadam distribution. The day was marked by an atmosphere of devotion and spirituality, with a large turnout of women, elderly devotees, and children lighting the sacred Karthika Deepams.
