BRS MLA Palla Rajeshwar Reddy reiterated his commitment to ensure that every village in the Jangaon region receives irrigation water from the Godavari River

WARANGAL: BRS MLA Palla Rajeshwar Reddy reiterated his commitment to ensure that every village in the Jangaon region receives irrigation water from the Godavari River, promising that water for two crop seasons will be secured once key projects are completed.

The MLA made these remarks while inaugurating several paddy procurement centres under the Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (PACS) in Pembarthi, Peddapadu, Ganugu Pahad, Venkiyal, Adivi Keshavapur, and Erra Golla Pahad villages in Jangaon Rural Mandal on Thursday.
During the visit, farmers from Pembarthi raised concerns about the lack of water from the Bommakur Right Canal during the current Yasangi (Rabi) season. Responding to their concerns, Rajeshwar Reddy shared updates on the Devadula Lift Irrigation Project, stating that motors in the third phase have begun functioning.
According to the MLA, the project’s water lifting capacity stands at 350 cusecs in the first phase, 550 cusecs in the second, and 1,800 cusecs in the third. While the first phase is operational, the second is expected to begin within a month, with the third phase set to launch in two months. Upon full implementation, irrigation for two seasonal crops will be possible, he assured, adding that unresolved issues would be taken up with concerned officials.
Rajeshwar Reddy also urged farmers to bring high-quality paddy to the centers to avail of the Minimum Support Price (MSP) and encouraged them to report any difficulties for prompt resolution.
Jangaon market chairman B. Shivraj Yadav, former market chairman G. Prema Latha Reddy, PACS chairman Ch. Srinivas Reddy, N. Mahender Reddy, mandal party president B. Yadagiri Goud, and former Rythu Bandhu Samiti coordinator B. Pramod Reddy were among those present at the event.
