Detonators Seized Near Church In Abdullapurmet, Police Investigate Violations

HYDERABAD: Abdullapurmet police, based on a tip-off found detonators near the Calvary Church on the outskirts of Gandicheruvu village. Police went to the spot on receiving information and found a group of men allegedly preparing to blast rocks using explosives. The suspects fled upon noticing the police.

During a search of the site, police recovered seven packets of XL detonators, each containing 15 units with connecting wire, and 10 EL detonators. The material was seized for investigation.

While initial suspicion pointed toward illegal blasting activity, police later clarified that the individuals involved had permission but it was specific to a certain land parcel within Survey No.s 184 and 185 of Gandicheruvu and not near the vicinity of Calvary Church or any other premises.

“Storing or using explosives even a few metres away from the approved location is a serious violation,” an official said. Police booked a case under the Explosives Act and commenced investigations.

Man Attacks Two Girlfriends, Associates For Confronting Him Over Cheating

HYDERABAD: A man attacked his two girlfriends and their associates when they confronted him for cheating them, Kukatpally police said on Sunday. The girls were friends with each other for long, and did not realise till recently that they were being two-timed by the accused, Srinivas.

Police, acting on a complaint by one of the girls, booked a case and served a notice on Srinivas. The names of the victims in the report have been concealed to protect their identity.

Police said the complainant entered a relationship with Srinivas after he assured her that he had ended his affair with her friend. Recently, the complainant discovered during a conversation that Srinivas was in a relationship with both of them.

They decided to confront Srinivas, and asked their associate and a family member to accompany them. They duly met and an argument ensued during which Srinivas punched the complainant in the face, twisted her friend’s arm, inflicted a fracture on the relative’s hand and stabbed the associate with a bike key, resulting in his lung getting punctured.

Police said the relative, who suffered a fractured figure, was discharged after treatment. The associate was still in the hospital undergoing treatment. “We are seeking doctor’s opinion on his condition,” police said.

Man Duped of ₹4 Lakh in Online International Fund Transfer Scam

HYDERABAD: A 26-year-old man from Vanastalipuram who was searching online for money transfer agencies was cheated of ₹4 lakh by a man posing as an agent for international fund transfers. According to the complaint filed by the victim, a resident of Kranti Hills, Vanastalipuram, he was trying to transfer money to his brother in London.

On June 26, he received a WhatsApp call from a man identifying himself as Vireebhadra Chowdary who claimed to specialise in international remittances. Trusting him, the victim deposited ₹4 lakh into Indian bank accounts provided by Chowdary over nine transactions.

Once the amount was fully transferred, the fraudster claimed that he was processing the transaction but said there were delays due to technical issues and banking procedures. Even after repeated follow-ups, the accused failed to provide proof of the fund transfer and eventually stopped responding to messages and calls.

Realizing he was cheated, the victim approached the Rachakonda cybercrime police and lodged a complaint.
