Deputy CM Accuses BRS of False Propaganda Against Congress Government

The Deputy CM said the opposition was indulging in mudslinging to hurt the government’s image.

Nalgonda:Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Tuesday alleged that BRS leaders were spreading false stories against the Congress government.

“The BRS is unable to accept the Congress government’s growing popularity due to its welfare and development programmes,” he said while speaking at the oath-taking ceremony of the newly appointed DCC executive committee held at Sanjeeva Reddy Bhavan in Khammam.

The Deputy CM said the opposition was indulging in mudslinging to hurt the government’s image. He called upon the party workers to ensure that welfare and development schemes reached every village and eligible beneficiary, and explain the “conspiracies” of the opposition.

He said Khammam remained a stronghold of the Congress and urged the newly appointed district committee to work in line with the party’s core principles and uphold constitutional values.

Highlighting welfare measures, Vikramarka said schemes such as Rythu Bharosa, Minimum Support Price initiatives and a Rs 500 bonus per quintal for fine variety paddy had benefited lakhs of farmers. The government had sanctioned 3,500 houses per assembly constituency, meaning a total of 4.5 lakh houses across the state with an outlay of Rs 22,500 crore, he said.

He said fine rice is being supplied free of cost to 1.06 crore families despite higher market prices, and that the initiative was unmatched by any other state.

On education-related welfare, he said hostel mess and cosmetic charges had been increased and a breakfast programme for school students would be launched on June 2, benefiting 28 lakh students. Mid-day meals would be extended to intermediate students in the next academic year.

Revenue minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said Congress workers must intensify publicity of government welfare schemes. The Congress party came to power due to the hard work of its cadre, he said, and urged them to ensure continued public outreach.

As part of the programme, leaders paid tributes to Dr BR Ambedkar on his 135th birth anniversary and participated in a community feast organised at Ambedkar Bhavan.

The meeting was attended by TPCC president Mahesh Goud, Khammam MP Ramasahayam Raghuram Reddy and others.
