Defeated Sarpanch Candidate Dies of Cardiac Arrest in Telangana

BRS-backed candidate Chennagoni Katamraju suffered chest pain after poll defeat

Nalgonda: A sarpanch candidate who was defeated in the recent gram panchayat elections died of a cardiac arrest on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Chennagoni Katamraju, who had contested for the sarpanch post of Kistapuram village in Munugode mandal with the support of the BRS. He was defeated in the elections held on December 11.

Family members said Katamraju had been under severe mental stress following his defeat. He reportedly complained of chest pain, following which he was rushed to a hospital in Nalgonda, where doctors declared him dead.
