Declare Adilabad Drought-Hit, Demands Jogu Ramanna

Jogu Ramanna said the state government failed to take measures to mitigate the drought conditions: Reports

ADILABAD: Former minister and BRS leader Jogu Ramanna on Sunday demanded that the state government should declare the Adilabad district as drought-affected and waive crop loans and credit Rythu Bandhu into the accounts of farmers immediately, without fail.

Speaking to the media, Jogu Ramanna said the state government failed to take measures to mitigate the drought conditions, though it was evident from the changing weather conditions with El NiƱo effects since a few months ago in the state and dipping in the groundwater table.

He criticised the Adilabad MLA Payal Shankar for not raising the prevailing drought conditions in the Assembly, and now he was talking about Rythu Padayatra and alleged that both BJP MLA and MP Godam Nagesh did not utter a single word against the Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, and this shows how they compromised with the CM. Senior BRS leaders Sajidoddin, councillors V. Prakash, Atram Venkat and Dasari Ramesh and others were present.
