DCA calls out company for sharing false non conviction certificate
The Drug Control Administration Telangana has called out a claim by a drug manufacturer regarding a 'non-conviction certificate' being circulated for its products

Hyderabad: The Drug Control Administration (DCA) Telangana has called out a claim by a drug manufacturer regarding a 'non-conviction certificate' being circulated for its products. The company asserted that following a DCA seizure of its products in November last year, it had received clearance concerning the quality of its products.
The DCA clarified that the seizure was unrelated to product quality.
In an official statement, V.B. Kamalasan Reddy, DCA-Telangana Director General, said: "The said document is a non-conviction certificate issued to Jodas Expoim Pvt Ltd on 20-02-2024 (please note the year is 2024). This certificate was issued in February 2024, indicating that the firm had not been convicted under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940, as of the date of issuance. This document is in no way related to the seizure of a large stock of antibiotics carried out at Jodas Expoim Pvt Ltd on November 26, 2024.”
“The seizure was made in connection with the export of products manufactured by other pharmaceutical companies to Russia, falsely labelled under Jodas Expoim’s name, and for the unauthorised packaging of antibiotics."
The statement clarified that the case registered against the firm in November 2024 was under investigation. A chargesheet will be filed in court upon completion of the investigation. The DCA said this was a clear attempt to mislead the public, and the certificate bore no relevance to the drugs seized during that operation.
