Daylight Chain Snatching in Kazipet Hours After Gang Arrest

Warangal:Unidentified assailants snatched a gold chain from a woman in broad daylight at Kazipet on Wednesday, hours after police announced the arrest of an inter-state snatching gang.
The incident occurred around 2 pm in Bapuji Nagar. The victim, Dhanalakshmi, a daily wage labourer residing near Karunya Hospital lane, was returning home when two persons on a motorcycle intercepted her.
Police said the rider was wearing a helmet while the pillion rider had covered his face with a scarf. The duo allegedly snatched a three-tola gold chain from her neck and fled.
The incident in a residential locality triggered concern among residents, who expressed apprehension over safety despite recent police action against similar offences. Police registered a case and began investigation. Teams are examining CCTV footage from cameras installed near Karunya Clinic and surrounding areas to identify the suspects.
Police advised the public, particularly women, to remain cautious and avoid wearing heavy jewellery while moving alone.
