Danam’s ‘Last’ Speech in Assembly on MLAs’ Privileges

Nagender said a draw of lots in Khairatabad constituency was done without his presence and officials did not wait for his arrival.

Hyderabad:In what may have been his last ‘speech’ in the current Assembly, Danam Nagender, who was disqualified as MLA by the Telangana High Court on Friday, earlier in the day raised the issue of MLAs privileges, He complained that officials who were involved in the drawing of lots for Indiramma houses did not care for the presence of MLAs in the constituencies where the events were held.

Nagender said a draw of lots in Khairatabad constituency was done without his presence and officials did not wait for his arrival. Responding to Nagender’s comment that he submitted a breach of privilege motion, Speaker G. Prasad Kumar said he did not receive it and suggested that Nagender submit his notice to him directly. The Speaker also assured that he will uphold the members privileges and their dignity and the complaint will be examined and action taken accordingly.
