Nalgonda: K. Damodar Rao, a deputy collector rank officer, was posted as executive officer (EO) of the Sri Seetharama Chandra Swamy Devasthanam at Bhadrachalam. Principal secretary, endowments, Shailaja Ramaiyer on Tuesday issued a GO appointing Rao.
Incumbent EO L. Rama Devi was relieved from the post with immediate effect after an extended tenure of five years. She had brought in several reforms in the administration of the devasthanam, including setting up two committees for verification of stocks in storerooms. She also strove for protection of land owned by the temple at Purushothapatnam in Alluri Sitarama Raju district on Andhra Pradesh, and was attacked by locals during an inspection.
