HYDERABAD: Dalit pastors, leaders of Christian organisations, and community representatives held a meeting at the YMCA auditorium to discuss strategies for securing Scheduled Caste (SC) status for Dalit Christians.
Manda Krishna Madiga, founder‑president of the Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi speaking at the protest urged unity in the struggle. More than a 1,000 delegates from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana participated.
Pastors and leaders delivered messages on the role Dalit Christians must play in achieving SC recognition. Gaddapati Vijay Raju, national president of the All India Christian Federation, gave an introduction on the issue, while Madiga expressed his support and called for collective action.
