Cycle Rally Held in Adilabad to Promote Fuel-free Transport

Additional Collector Rajeshwar said people should adopt alternative modes of transport to conserve fuel resources and protect the environment.

Adilabad: A cycle rally was organised in Adilabad town on Wednesday to promote the use of bicycles and reduce dependence on fuel-based transport.

The rally, held under the ‘Shoonya Indhana and Garista Arogyam’ programme, was flagged off from Indira Priyadarshini Stadium and concluded at B.R. Ambedkar Chowk, passing through major roads. It was organised by the forest department to mark International Cycle Day.

Additional collector Rajeshwar said cycling was essential to reduce the use of petrol and diesel and improve health.

He said people should adopt alternative modes of transport to conserve fuel resources and protect the environment.

Adilabad DFO Prashanth Bajorao Patil said a 5K run would be organised on June 7 to further promote awareness on cycling.
