Hyderabad: Cybercrime Awareness For Bank Employees
The programme was held as part of measures to strengthen vigilance against rising cyber frauds and sensitise banking staff on their role in prevention: Reports

HYDERABAD: Hyderabad police commissioner V.C. Sajjanar unveiled a special multilingual brochure designed to create awareness among bank employees on cybercrime prevention and response mechanisms, at an event here on Friday.
The programme was held as part of measures to strengthen vigilance against rising cyber frauds and sensitise banking staff on their role in prevention.
RBI regional director Chinmay Kumar, cybercrime DCP Arvind Babu, Bank of Baroda executive director Beena Vaheed, zonal head Sudhakar and officials from banks were also present.
Sajjanar stressed that every bank employee must possess complete awareness about cybercrimes and remember their responsibility as protectors of people’s money.
He said preventing cybercrime was not solely the responsibility of police but a collective social duty. The commissioner urged bank staff to strictly implement the ‘zero mule account challenge’ and ‘safe customer challenge’ in every branch and work towards ensuring that none of their customers fall victim to cyber fraud.
Referring to the recently conducted ‘Operation Cctopus’, Sajjanar said investigations revealed that many bank employees lacked minimum awareness of cybercrimes.
He observed that while banks showed diligence in opening new accounts, the same seriousness was often lacking in addressing cybercrime victims. He also suggested rewarding branches that reported zero cyber fraud victims to encourage better vigilance and responsibility among employees.
