Cyberabad Tops Early Bird Tax Collection

CMC’s collection rose from ₹439.85 crore to ₹510.33 crore, reflecting a growth of about 16 per cent. GHMC’s collection increased from ₹416.68 crore to ₹441.88 crore, while MMC’s rose from ₹240.2 crore to ₹260.23 crore.

Hyderabad: In the Core Urban Region Economy (CURE) area, Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) recorded the highest property tax under the Early Bird Scheme with ₹510.33 crore, followed by GHMC at ₹441.88 crore and Malkajgiri at ₹240.2 crore.

Within CMC’s 16 circles, Madhapur led with ₹95 crore, followed by Serilingampally (₹81.9 crore) and Kukatpally (₹53.93 crore). In GHMC’s 30 circles, Jubilee Hills topped with ₹79.14 crore, Khairatabad with ₹75.37 crore and Ameerpet with ₹43.86 crore. In Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation, Saroornagar led the 14 circles with ₹30.14 crore, followed by Bowenpally (₹26.46 crore) and Nagole (₹24.43 crore).

Officials of all three corporations reported a steady increase in property tax compared to last year. CMC’s collection rose from ₹439.85 crore to ₹510.33 crore, reflecting a growth of about 16 per cent. GHMC’s collection increased from ₹416.68 crore to ₹441.88 crore, while MMC’s rose from ₹240.2 crore to ₹260.23 crore.

CMC commissioner G. Srijana appreciated the efforts of staff and urged them to sustain the momentum. MMC commissioner Vinay Krishna Reddy and additional commissioner (Revenue) Radhika Gupta also commended their teams.

Officials noted that tax collections rise annually with new property assessments, except during disruptions such as the Covid‑19 lockdown. Verification revealed that if all properties were brought under the tax net, assessments could increase by around 30 per cent, significantly boosting collections.


ULBs outside CURE collect ₹252 crore

Urban local bodies (ULBs) outside the Core Urban Region Economy (CURE) area recorded ₹252 crore in property tax under the Early Bird Scheme, up from ₹204.05 crore last year.

According to data from the commissioner and director of Municipal Administration, the five highest‑grossing municipal corporations were Greater Warangal (₹29.96 crore), Karimnagar (₹17.70 crore), Nizamabad (₹14.22 crore), Khammam (₹11.16 crore) and Mahbubnagar (₹10.16 crore).

The figures reflect a steady rise in collections across ULBs, adding to the overall growth trend reported under the Early Bird Scheme this year.
