Cyberabad Police Chief Stresses Border Coordination

Cyberabad police commissioner Dr M. Ramesh said close coordination, swift exchange of intelligence and joint operations are essential to prevent crimes in regions bordering neighbouring commissionerates. “Offenders often commit crimes in one jurisdiction and flee to another, making seamless cooperation among police units crucial for their quick identification and arrest,” he said.

He urged officers to make effective use of technology, CCTV networks and intelligence inputs to improve crime detection and prevention. Officials were directed to maintain continuous surveillance on rowdy sheeters, history-sheeters, interstate criminal gangs and cyber offenders, while ensuring immediate sharing of actionable information among border police units.

Dr Ramesh was speaking at a meeting to strengthen coordination among neighbouring police commissionerates and district police units for effective crime prevention and maintenance of law and order in border areas. Senior police officers from Hyderabad, Future City, Sangareddy, Medak and other adjoining commissionerates and districts attended.

The meeting reviewed the functioning of law and order, crime, traffic, Special Operations Team (SOT), Special Branch and Cyber Crime wings. Officers made presentations on prevailing conditions in their jurisdictions, operational challenges, action plans and strategies to strengthen inter-departmental coordination.

Discussions focused on intelligence sharing regarding habitual offenders and interstate gangs, joint check-posts and patrolling, instant communication through WhatsApp groups, sharing details of missing persons and unidentified bodies, expanding CCTV coverage, cybercrime coordination, VIP bandobast, traffic management during religious festivals and major public events, prevention of communal tensions and coordinated response during natural disasters.

Senior officers from Cyberabad, Hyderabad and neighbouring police units attended the meeting.
