Cyberabad Municipal Corporation Okays Biodiversity Centre for Animals
New Indiramma Canteens, aspirational toilets, road construction approved
Hyderabad: The Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) standing committee on Friday approved setting up a biodiversity centre for animals, 32 new Indiramma Canteens, aspirational toilets and taking up road construction in some areas across its municipal limits.
The Cyberabad Urban Biodiversity Centre for Awareness, Rescue & Rehabilitation (CUB-CARE) will come up at Ashoka Vanam Park, Serilingampally. It will serve as a hub for emergency response, medical treatment, rehabilitation and awareness for animals and will be used as a veterinary and quarantine facility to treat injured or sick animals.
The CUB-CARE, which is being set up in collaboration with the Animal Warriors Conservation Society (AWCS), will create a model facility that complements the functions of zoos and existing civic animal shelters. The urban biodiversity wing of the CMC will develop an awareness and training centre to engage schools, colleges, and communities.
The committee also approved the construction of Model Road from NH-65 (Old Bombay Road) to Ameenpur Ward and a box culvert and CC Road from Kaithalapur Flyover to the Transfer Station at 15th Phase in Kaithalapur Ward. Another box drain will be built from Ambeer Cheruvu to Srinivasa Colony in Bhagyanagar Allwyn Colony Ward.
The administrative sanction was issued for the construction of the Balance Box Drain from New Colony Road No.6 to Raj Darbar Restaurant in Mayuri Nagar, Madhapur Circle.
It will also build the NH-65 Foot Over Bridge to PNR Hill View via PJR Enclave and RDP from Miyapur Lotus Hospitals to Ameenpur village.
The committee also approved the engagement of the Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI) for providing technical support towards implementation of Solid Waste Management Rules, Swachh Survekshan-2027 preparedness, Bulk Waste Generator compliance, IEC activities, capacity building and third-party monitoring.
It also plans to construct aspirational toilets, compost units, secondary collection Transfer Points and transfer station-cum-material recovery facilities.
