Transport minister Ponnam Prabhakar travelled in an RTC passenger service from Pandilla to Husnabad, Women passengers tied rakhis to the minister
Hyderabad: Raksha Bandhan was celebrated across the city on Friday, with sisters visiting their brothers to tie rakhis and families organising get-togethers to mark the festival.
Women dressed in traditional outfits visited their brothers' homes, while families gathered for celebrations. Trendy and customised rakhis were also seen this year, including those printed with photographs of brothers and sisters.
Vijay Kumar, a resident of Ashoknagar, said, “Both my sisters tied customised rakhis featuring our photographs. Several people liked them and asked about them.”
Restaurants and eateries also witnessed families gathering for festive meals.
Dipti Ranjan, manager of a popular eatery, said, “The festival is always special. Families come together for lunch and look forward to festive sweets, so we prepare a wide variety of traditional Indian sweets for the occasion.”
