CURE Bill Talks Focus on Civic Services, Transparency

Hyderabad:Special Chief Secretary for metropolitan area and urban development (HMDA limits) Jayesh Ranjan on Wednesday chaired a consultative meeting with real estate bodies, industry associations and other stakeholders on the proposed CURE Bill.
He outlined the key objectives and features of the proposed legislation, including integrated urban governance, improved civic service delivery, environmental protection, digital governance, gender inclusion and citizen-centric administration.
Participants offered suggestions to strengthen the Bill, seeking a transparent and streamlined building permission system that remains consistent across administrations.
They also raised issues relating to maintenance of parks, authorised collection of liquid waste from sewage treatment plants (STPs), prompt removal of dead animals, clearance of waste from vacant plots, identification of areas for purchase of flats and plots, and removal of unauthorised flex banners along roads and on electric poles.
Ranjan said the suggestions would be examined for incorporation in the proposed legislation.
