Curb Mosquito Menace, BRS MLA Demands Wearing Mosquito Net Suit

If the mosquito problem is not controlled, then it will impact the brand image of Hyderabad city,” Sudheer Reddy claimed

HYDERABAD: The battle against mosquitoes on Thursday was taken up a notch by BRS LB Nagar MLA Devireddy Sudheer Reddy, who demanded that the government and the GHMC wake up to the problem and take steps to control the burgeoning numbers of mosquitoes in the city.

Sudheer Reddy, armed with a mosquito fogging machine and wearing a specially stitched suit made of mosquito netting, addressed a press conference at the BRS Legislature Party office in the Assembly complex here, and said: “The problem is so severe that you can’t even open your mouth because mosquitoes will buzz their way into you.”

He said the city was experiencing increasing incidents of dengue and malaria spread by the mosquitoes and accused the government of not taking any steps to curb the mosquito menace. “We demand that every municipal division be provided with 10 fogging machines. Just as we all wore masks during Covid pandemic, the time has come to wear suits made out of mosquito nets,” he said.

“When BRS was in power, there used to be regular fogging in areas where mosquitos would be found. Now the situation is such that people are scared to come to Hyderabad because of the mosquito menace. If the mosquito problem is not controlled, then it will impact the brand image of Hyderabad city,” Sudheer Reddy claimed.
