The K. Raheja Group will fully bear the ₹50.50 crore required for development of educational infrastructure: Reports

HYDERABAD: In a major boost to the development of government schools, three corporate firms — K. Raheja Group, Ramky Foundation and Yashoda Foundation — have come forward to provide financial assistance under their corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.

The three firms signed agreements with the education department in the presence of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy here on Saturday. The agreements were handed over to the Chief Minister by K. Raheja Group chairman Neil C. Raheja, Ramky Foundation managing trustee Alla Dakshayani and Yashoda Group director Gorukanti Devender Rao.

As part of the initiative, Ramky Foundation will contribute 40 per cent of the cost, amounting to ₹19.66 crore, for the construction of an integrated campus housing schools from the pre-primary to the Intermediate level at Jawaharnagar in Medchal-Malkajgiri district.

The foundation will also bear 40 per cent of the project cost, amounting to ₹10.4 crore, for the upgradation of the Zilla Parishad High School at Tukkuguda in Maheshwaram mandal of Rangareddy district. The project includes construction of facilities from pre-primary to Class V and Intermediate sections.

The K. Raheja Group will fully bear the ₹50.50 crore required for development of educational infrastructure from pre-primary to intermediate level at Kondapur in Rangareddy district.

Yashoda Foundation, through Yashoda Hospitals, will provide ₹12.20 crore for development of facilities for pre-primary, Class VI and Class VII students at the MPP School in Subhashnagar, Uppal, in Medchal-Malkajgiri district.

Education secretary Yogita Rana, technical education commissioner Devasena, Chief Minister’s special secretary Ajit Reddy and Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) chairman C. Shekhar Reddy were present during the programme.
