Crime Rose 63% In Adilabad In 2025
The SP said cybercrime and cheating cases increased during the year, while the number of road accidents also went up, though fatalities showed a decline compared to 2024.

ADILABAD: Overall crime in Adilabad district recorded a sharp rise in 2025 compared to the previous year. According to police data, 6,486 crime cases were registered in 2025, up from 3,979 cases in 2024, marking an increase of about 63 per cent.
Speaking to the media on Monday while releasing the annual crime report, police superintendent Akhil Mahajan said the rise in numbers was partly due to the police registering cases promptly for every reported offence. He added that stricter adherence to procedure had contributed to the higher registration of cases.
The SP said cybercrime and cheating cases increased during the year, while the number of road accidents also went up, though fatalities showed a decline compared to 2024. He noted that cases of missing persons, kidnapping and rape had also risen year-on-year.
Akhil Mahajan said police efforts to curb ganja consumption and cultivation had yielded positive results, but added that more measures were needed to prevent road accidents and reduce injuries. He said there was a decline in cases of murder, attempt to murder, fatal road accidents and grievous injuries during the year.
