Sandhya Stampede: Allu Arjun Appears Before Court Virtually, Matter Posted to July 6
The stampede occurred as fans gathered to catch a glimpse of the actor during the 'Pushpa 2' premiere screening at the theatre
Hyderabad: The Nampally Magistrate Court on Monday adjourned hearing in the Sandhya Theatre stampede case to July 6. Accused No. 11, film actor Allu Arjun, did not appear in person before the court. His counsel sought permission to appear Allu Arjun virtually.
The court had earlier issued summons directing the actor to appear before it on June 22. However, Arjun’s counsel informed the court that the actor was in Mumbai for a film shoot and sought permission for him to participate in the proceedings through video conferencing. He would attend the next proceedings virtually and requested the permission.
The case was registered with the fatal stampede that took place outside Sandhya Theatre during a special screening of the‘Pushpa-2’ movie in December 2024. resulting in the death of a woman and serious injuries to her minor son. Police later filed a chargesheet naming multiple accused, including the actor, theatre management personnel and event organisers.
