Court Accepts Harish Rao’s Defamation Complaint Against Mahesh Kumar Goud, Addanki Dayankar
Former minister alleges Mahesh Goud and Addanki Dayakar made defamatory remarks
Hyderabad: The Special Judicial First Class Magistrate Court for elected representatives at Nampally on Thursday accepted a criminal defamation complaint filed by former minister and BRS leader T. Harish Rao against TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud and Congress MLC Addanki Dayakar. The court posted the matter to September 30 for recording Harish Rao’s statement.
Harish Rao, who appeared before the court on Thursday, alleged that Mahesh Kumar Goud and Dayakar had made defamatory and baseless remarks against him by claiming that he was performing occult rituals during a temple visit.
Speaking to the media after appearing before the court, Harish Rao said he had filed the complaint with supporting evidence and that the court had accepted his petition. He alleged that the Congress leaders were resorting to diversion politics as the BRS was questioning the government over its election promises and guarantees.
He said he would pursue the case against those who, he alleged, were spreading false propaganda against him and would fight until they were punished. The complaint was filed under Section 356 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, seeking action against the two Congress leaders for allegedly making defamatory statements against him.
