HYDERABAD: Miyapur police traced and safely reunited a five-year-old boy with his parents after he went missing from Miyapur New Colony on Monday morning.

According to Inspector P. Shiva Prasad, the boy, Siddharth, son of Rajesh, was playing outside his house when he wandered away and unknowingly walked nearly a kilometre from his residence. The parents searched for him in the neighbourhood but were unable to trace his whereabouts.

Meanwhile, Miyapur police personnel who were on routine patrol noticed the child walking alone, disoriented. Suspecting that he may have gone missing, they took the child into their care and immediately began efforts to identify his parents and address.

The police spent nearly two hours making enquiries in nearby colonies and checking local details. Meanwhile, the parents, too, who were on the lookout for the missing child, decided to lodge a complaint and approached the police and he was found at the police station. Siddharth was then safely handed over to his parents.

The parents expressed relief and happiness and thanked Miyapur police for their alertness and timely response.
