Police Imposter Held For Posing As CM’s Security
Yadav hailing from Gadwal drew sharp criticism for making a reel claiming that in the police uniform

HYDERABAD: Saifabad police on Wednesday arrested a man who posed as a police constable and falsely claimed to be part of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s security detail.
The accused, identified as Thaturi Ravi alias Nikhil Yadav alias Charan Yadav, 31, a resident of Ramanthapur and native of Gadwal, had been posting reels on Instagram and other social media handles dressed in khaki uniform with a name badge. In the videos, he claimed, “If anybody wants to meet Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, you can contact me.”
Police said Ravi, a hotel worker, entered the Telangana Secretariat on April 26 wearing a full police uniform. He posed as a member of the CM’s security team and misled the public by offering to arrange direct meetings with the Chief Minister.
During interrogation, Ravi revealed that he previously worked in a canteen at Goshamahal in 2018, where he developed an obsession with the authority and prestige of the uniform. He had recently purchased a police kit in Amberpet, SHO N. Rajender disclosed.
Police seized a khaki uniform, jungle‑pattern uniform, beret cap, khaki cap, black belt, two black whistle cords, and a Motorola G34 mobile phone used in the offence.
A case has been registered under Sections 204, 205, 319, 318(4), 353 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Section 66‑D of the IT Act. The accused was produced before court and remanded to judicial custody, Rajender said.
