Congress took BCs for a ride: BJP’s Payal Shankar
The quota of BC reservations to be given at the party level can be decided at their office. We expected an announcement to protect the interest of BCs but the government took the people for a ride again, Payal Shankar stated

Hyderabad: BJP MLA Payal Shankar said the Congress has once again cheated the BCs on the floor of the Assembly by ignoring its promises. He reminded that the party had in its Kamareddy declaration promised 42 per cent reservation to BCs in local bodies.
Addressing the media at the party headquarters, he said, "The government did not answer the questions raised by me in the Assembly. How did the BCs
number fall? Which district saw the fall? They are not answering what exactly is the number of each caste and are evading an answer. The BRS kept the details of its survey in the website but the current government is saying it’s not authentic. What is the dubious plan behind reducing the number of SCs and BCs. How did the percentage of other castes increase?"
Do they need to convene the house and pass a resolution to give 42 per cent quota in the local bodies? The quota of BC reservations to be given at the party level can be decided at their office. We expected an announcement to protect the interest of BCs but the government took the people for a ride again, he stated, adding the earlier Udaipur declaration also ended up in the same league.
He reminded that after one BC MLA spoke four ministers intervened to stop him. The BCs should be wary of the Congress tactics and teach the party a lesson in the local body polls.
