Congress Set To Win Again, Claims Ponguleti

Distributing the sanction letters of Indiramma Houses‑II to the selected beneficiaries at a programme held in PVR Gardens at Edulapuram in Khammam district, he said the people of the state were supporting the Congress in every election after 2024 due to the welfare schemes taken up by Chief Minister Anumula Revanth Reddy.

NALGONDA: Revenue minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on Friday exuded confidence that the Congress would again come into power in Telangana in the next legislative assembly election despite false propaganda of the opposition party BRS.

They would vote the Congress to power in the next legislative assembly elections for continuation of the welfare era brought by the current state government. It was not possible for the opposition BRS to stop the Congress from coming into power for a second term with its false propaganda, he added.

He stated the Congress government has laid focus on materialising the dream of the poor people to own a pucca house. Hence, it revived the Indiramma Houses scheme immediately after coming to power in 2023. He pointed out that 4.5 lakh Indiramma houses have been sanctioned to eligible poor families in the first phase and another 2.5 lakh Indiramma houses would be sanctioned in the second phase. In addition to this, one lakh houses will be built in the core area of Hyderabad region in these two phases. The state government has spent ₹40,000 crore for these eight lakh houses, he added. He assured that all the eligible poor families would get Indiramma houses in the next two years.

Stating that the Congress government was committed to protection of government lands, he reminded that when the earlier BRS government had conspired to hand over 560 acres of land at Miyapur to private persons, then as an MP, Revanth Reddy approached the Supreme Court, which ultimately led to protection of the government land.

District collector Diwakara T.S. said the selection of Indiramma houses would be conducted by ensuring transparency and corruption‑free processes. Based on the level of the work, the money was being deposited in the bank accounts of the beneficiaries of Indiramma houses every Monday, he added.

Project director of Housing Bhukya Srinivas, Edulapuram Municipal chairperson Pokabathini Anitha and municipal commissioner Alla Srinivas Reddy were also present.
