Of the 60 divisions, BJP won 28 seats, Congress 18, AIMIM 14, and BRS just one. While national parties BJP and Congress fought strongly, AIMIM retained its presence with corporators elected in 14 divisions.
BJP leaders, including MP Dharmapuri Arvind, Nizamabad Urban MLA Dhanpal Suryanarayan Gupta, and TPCC president and MLC B. Mahesh Kumar Goud, played key roles in their party’s campaign.
Counting was held at the Government Polytechnic College under tight security and strict adherence to Election Commission guidelines. District election officer and collector Ila Tripathi, along with senior officials, supervised the process. Postal ballots were counted first, followed by ballot boxes brought from strong rooms in serial order. Results were announced round by round, and certificates issued to winners.
Heavy police security was deployed around counting centres, with prohibitory orders enforced. Entry was restricted to authorised personnel, and mobile phones and cameras were prohibited. Transco staff ensured uninterrupted power supply throughout the day.
With foolproof arrangements in place, counting continued until evening, and results were declared transparently in the presence of candidates and their agents.
