Revanth, MLAs to Promote Govt Sops From May 1
The campaign aims to counter opposition claims and highlight Congress government's achievements since 2023

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, along with ministers and Congress MLAs, will tour all Assembly constituencies from May 1 to June 2, State Formation Day, to promote the welfare schemes and development programmes of the Congress government.
In the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) meeting held on April 15, the Chief Minister had noted that while the government had fulfilled key election promises within just 16 months of coming to power, but it had not effectively communicated these achievements to the public.
The Chief Minister said opposition parties had taken advantage of this communication gap by launching counter-campaigns that created a misleading narrative that Congress had delivered little on six guarantees and other poll promises.
To address this, the Chief Minister directed ministers and MLAs to remain in their respective districts and constituencies throughout the one-month period and actively engage with the public to highlight the government's accomplishments, despite facing financial challenges.
The initiative aims to directly interact with the public and highlight the Congress government’s achievements over the past 16 months.
The Chief Minister instructed all Congress MLAs to hold intensive grassroots outreach in their Assembly constituencies from April 16 to June 2. The legislators have been asked to visit every village and educate people on the Congress government's schemes and achievements, including the Scheduled Castes sub-categorisation, sanna biyyam (fine rice) scheme, Bhu Bharati land portal and the Indiramma housing scheme.
“If we want to win the next Assembly elections, we must start engaging with the people now. All our good work will mean nothing, if the information doesn’t reach them,” said Revanth Reddy in the CLP meeting, stressing the importance of communication and public connection. “How much good we do is important, but making sure people know about it is equally crucial,” the Chief Minister said.
Revanth Reddy himself plans to tour at least two Assembly constituencies in each of the 10 undivided districts, excluding Hyderabad, covering two districts every week. Ministers and MLAs have also been directed to give wide publicity to key achievements, including the first-ever caste census in Telangana, the resolution of a three-decade-old SC sub-categorisation issue, and new legislation enhancing reservations for Backward Classes to 42 per cent across education, employment, and local governance.
Special emphasis will be placed on the Congress government’s crop loan waiver of up to Rs 2 lakh per farmer, benefiting 25 lakh farmers at a cost of Rs 21,000 crore, the largest such waiver in the country. The Chief Minister urged them to promote the sanna biyyam scheme, which provides high-quality rice free of cost to BPL families through ration shops, a benefit worth Rs 50 per kg in the open market.
In response to the Centre's recent hike in LPG prices, Revanth Reddy wants party leaders to highlight that ration card holders in Telangana continue to pay only Rs 500 for a cylinder, with the state government bearing anything over and above Rs 500.
Revanth Reddy instructed MLAs to prepare detailed reports on the developmental needs of their Assembly constituencies, assuring that the government will take responsibility for completing those projects. The Chief Minister said the responsibility lies with all elected representatives to inform people about the Congress government's key initiatives and decisions.
