Congress Leaders Fight Cold War in Yellareddy Segment

The intra-party rift has deepened, with factional clashes reported in Gandhari. Rao’s supporters recently attacked Reddy’s cadre, and Reddy’s followers reportedly set up flexi boards omitting the MLA’s image.

Nizamabad: The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) has suspended senior Congress leader Vaddepally Subhash Reddy for alleged anti-party activities in Yellareddy Assembly constituency. TPCC Disciplinary Action Committee chairman G. Chinna Reddy issued the suspension following a prolonged internal feud.

Reddy, a strong supporter of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, had aspired for the MLA ticket in the 2023 Assembly elections. When the party high command fielded incumbent MLA K. Madanmohan Rao instead, Reddy joined the BJP and contested the elections, ultimately facing defeat. He later rejoined Congress after the party returned to power, but tensions remained high.

The intra-party rift has deepened, with factional clashes reported in Gandhari. Rao’s supporters recently attacked Reddy’s cadre, and Reddy’s followers reportedly set up flexi boards omitting the MLA’s image. The TPCC disciplinary committee issued a show-cause notice to Reddy on November 21, 2024; his explanation submitted on November 29 was deemed unsatisfactory, leading to his suspension on Friday.

Notably, K. Madanmohan Rao had also faced suspension from the Congress by the Kamareddy district committee before the Assembly elections. As the dispute continues, Reddy’s loyalists — closely aligned with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy — await further developments.
