HANUMAKONDA: The Hanumakonda District Congress Committee on Saturday organised a Vijay March following the resignation of Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

The march, led by District Congress Committee president Engala Venkatram Reddy, began at the Mahatma Gandhi statue in Public Garden and concluded at the Dr B.R. Ambedkar statue with a candlelight rally.

Addressing the gathering, Venkatram Reddy described Pradhan’s resignation as a victory for the students’ struggle and credited the leadership of Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi for the development.

He said the resignation followed the Congress campaign highlighting students’ issues and alleged irregularities, including question paper leaks in competitive examinations.

Venkatram Reddy said the Congress would continue its agitation until all pending demands of students were addressed and reiterated the party's commitment to transparency in the education system.

MLC Baswaraju Saraiah, MLAs Naini Rajender Reddy and Revuri Prakash Reddy, TPCC leaders, representatives of Mahila Congress, Youth Congress and NSUI, besides party workers, participated in the rally.
