Bhatti Vikramarka recalled that eco-tourism development was clearly emphasized in the very first budget presented after the formation of the people’s government

Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Wednesday inaugurated the Puligundala Eco-Tourism Project in Sathupalli constituency of Khammam district. On the occasion, he also launched the cottages, boating facilities and jungle safari developed as part of the project.

Later, addressing a public meeting, the Deputy Chief Minister spoke on the significance of eco-tourism development. The Congress government is giving top priority to the tourism sector, with a clear vision to showcase Telangana’s natural beauty to the world.

He recalled that eco-tourism development was clearly emphasized in the very first budget presented after the formation of the people’s government. Funds have already been allocated in the budget to develop the Kanakagiri area in Khammam district as a tourist destination.

The MLA Matta Ragamayee Dayanand informed that Rs.4 crore is required for tourism development at Puligundala ake. In response, the Deputy Chief Minister announced Rs.2 crore from Green Fund and the remaining Rs.2 crore through CSR funds.

A double road from Kanakagiri to improve tourist connectivity is being planned, and the District Collector has been instructed to prepare proposals immediately. Officials were directed to set a clear timeline and ensure speedy completion of all works.

The project is expected to generate employment opportunities for local rural youth. Increased tourist footfall will also boost local hotels and small businesses.

The Deputy Chief Minister stressed that tourism development should take place without disturbing the natural ecosystem. The government is firmly committed to promoting eco-tourism across the state.

He assured that Puligundala project, Kanakagiri hills, and Kallur hills will be integrated and developed into a major tourist hub. He expressed confidence that this region will emerge as a prominent tourist destination not only in the state but also across the country.

The State government is ready to sanction all necessary funds for the development of this region without delay. He called upon everyone to treat this tourism project as a shared asset and work collectively to develop it into a matter of pride for the state and the nation.
