Slot booking for property registrations to go state-wide from June 2 as Telangana reforms land services.

Hyderabad: Revenue minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on Saturday announced that the slot booking system for property registrations introduced by the stamps and registration department will be extended to sub-registrar offices across the state from June 2, Telangana Formation Day.
The system was launched on April 10 in 22 sub-registrar offices as a pilot project to test its transparent, corruption-free and time-saving features for property buyers and sellers. As the pilot evoked a good response from the people, the initiative was extended to 25 sub-registrar offices from May 12.
Srinivas Reddy also launched a special portal aimed at tracking and listing details of prohibited land. He said strict measures would be taken to ensure that no land in the in the prohibited list at sub-registrar offices would not be registered. "The new portal has been set up to alert the stamps and registration headquarters in Hyderabad as soon as there is an attempt to register prohibited land. Strict measures will be enforced against officers who attempt to register prohibited land," Srinivas Reddy warned.
The minister was speaking at a review meeting on slot booking with senior officials here on Saturday. He said that the department was adopting reforms to save people's time and expedite the registration process. "Not only are these reforms intended to provide faster and more efficient services, but it is also the responsibility of the officials to ensure their successful implementation. These reforms will not only improve services but to increase transparency," Srinivas Reddy said.
The new system will now be extended to 97 more locations thereby covering the entire state from June 2, he said. He instructed officials to make necessary arrangements for the state-wide launch on June 2. The minister said, "With the success of this two-phase implementation in 47 locations, public response has been overwhelmingly positive. Nearly 94 per cent of people expressed satisfaction. A total of nearly 36,000 registrations have been completed in both phases."
Speaking in Nalgonda district, Srinivas Reddy said that the Congress government was fulfilling its poll promises one by one, overcoming the financial problems created by BRS government’s excessive borrowing.
He was speaking after laying the foundation stone for a Rs 3.75-crore BT road from Rakasi thanda to Munnegudem in Tirumalayapalem. Srinivas Reddy said that the BRS government had borrowed Rs 8.19 lakh crore, and the repayment burden had fallen on the Congress government.
In spite of the funds crunch caused by this, the Congress government had accorded equal priority to welfare and development and was implementing its poll promises. The Congress government has fulfilled some of its poll promises and the remaining would be fulfilled without fail, Srinivas Reddy made it clear.
He said that the government was taking special care to take the benefits of welfare schemes and development programmes to the people in remote areas. Indiramma houses were also sanctioned to the families, which have recommended by Indiramma Committees in the first phase. No scope for irregularities in implementation of Indiramma houses scheme, he said even as he distributed sanction letters to selected beneficiaries.
